Remember when 10 to 14 days was an acceptable time frame for buyers to receive their orders? Not anymore. Today’s buyers want it within a few days! With efficient logistics, it can be done. Brendamour Warehousing, Distribution and Services is one of the few third party logistics providers that has the warehouse management system to move your freight faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively, giving you the all-important competitive advantage.

How do we do it? We use advanced logistics technology to our advantage, which gives us a lot of distribution options other public warehouses do not have. One of those options is transloading. It allows us to provide you with transportation services that save up to 40 percent on transit time.

Meet Transloading

The definition of transloading is simple enough: Transferring a shipment from one means of transportation to another. But its proper execution involves a high level of coordination, something Brendamour Warehousing is able to handle with its sophisticated, fully automated transportation management system.

Transloading involves multiple exchanges along the way and additional handling. But we have stringent transloading practices in place with transportation carriers around the world to ensure your goods are handled properly throughout the entire supply chain.

Transloading In Action

At Brendamour, transloading is the norm. Most of the businesses using our warehousing, inventory and distribution services require multiple methods of transportation to move their product from one of our Midwest warehouse locations to its final destination(s). This is very common when transferring goods from our warehouse to multiple stores throughout the U.S. or overseas to international destinations.

For example, we might need to transport goods by freight truck to an airport for air transport and then arrange another truck for the remainder of the destination. Or we might need to transport by truck to plane, to train, back to truck again. Or even truck to a ship’s port, to a local shipping carrier. It sounds like a logistics nightmare, right? But not for us because we have the expertise and state-of-the-art technology to make it all happen flawlessly.

From our point of view, every business has specific needs depending on where they do business or the locations of their customers, which is why we have perfected our transloading operations to meet those diverse, ever-changing needs.

How We Ensure Smooth Distribution

While it’s always best to use just one mode of transportation for the entire distribution of goods, often times it is not feasible. But our transloading services minimize risks like product damage, loss or misdirected shipments, as well as associated transportation expenses. Our automated transportation management system provides:

- Extensive fail-safe protocols;
- Expert handling of your goods throughout every step of their destination;
- Comprehensive tracking of your materials with a real time database so we (and you!) can see where every item is at any moment.

At Brendamour, we recognize that in order for your company to succeed, you need to outperform your competition. With us as your 3PL, you’re well on your way to saving time and money and gaining the competitive edge. We’d love to show you all we can do for you.
